SWTOR

So uhm... I deleted the "shitstorm" post. I was just angry that my MU files were deleted and that the "destroy the internet" bill could pass >_> Hopefully MU lawyers will find a way to bring the service back somehow.

Anyway, I feel like taking a break, play some games, refill the inspiration meter. I've bought SWTOR today, downloading at... 326KB/s? ¬_¬ this will take a while.

If any of you that have tried the game could share their opinion I would appreciate it :3

How much of the game can be played "solo"?
Do the female companions look good? you know... for inspiration purposes :p
The customization... how good is the character creation?
And the quests/missions... is it another grinding game or there's actually something more interesting to do?

  1. I played quite a lot since release and it didn't disappoint me yet
you can either play alone or with a couple of mates, anyway you will reach your max level and there is no grinding problem at all
sadly PvP is a bit laggy no matter how bad or good your PC is

lets come to the interesting part
    the characters look pretty good
I'm totally obsessed with the female Twi'leks, would love to see some work from you with those

  2. How much of the game can be played "solo"?

The enitre thing can be solo'd, I made a Trooper Vanguard and solo'd it all. Flashpoints and Heroics are the exception though.

Eh run of the mill, an Elara Dorne set... there's an idea.

The customization... how good is the character creation?

Pretty basic batch of sliders to customize with, nothing spectacular.

And the quests/missions... is it another grinding game or there's actually something more interesting to do?

The class story line has me enthralled, couldn't put the game down. The game is not a grindy one as you can send your companions off to do things for you later on leaving you free to play and explore.

  3. i'm agreeing with patrick on this one entirely and adding that a Satele Shan would be amazing >.>

  5. Haha, downloading at 326KB/s. Man, my connection during the day gets only 40KB/s max. It's set the way it cannot allow more. And it was going slower in the past. Yes, I have crappy connection but seriously, you complaining about speed made ma laugh. One way or another, enjoy your game. It's a good one.

  6. The game is amazing. Lost of quests. No need to ever grind. I have only played a sith inquisitor up to level 30 though so I don't know all yet. The Female companions are mostly really hot.

  7. IF you want a real Hottie, Roll a sith warrior. You get Vette around level 8 and she is as cute as a bug.

  8. There are a few good ones, definitely (or you can make your own too). You can pick up the Slave outfit in the Cantina on Nar Shaddaa, though you need to run a bunch of flashpoints (maybe 5-7 times through the first one) to get enough social points to wear it (or put it on your female companion). Definitely worth it though :)

Also forget Vette, Jaesa is so much hotter for the Sith Warrior companions. Her Dark Side version is a total homicidal slut. :)

  9. I've been playing DC Comics' MMO. Free with relatively easy solo for the quests.

A fun character generator with the potential for some good variety.

  10. hello, tested SWTOR, but the gameplay and the game's option setup are very differents of Aion (the game i play actually) and i prefered return on Aion ^^;

  11. Hey Vaesark! Been visiting your site for about two years now. I've been meaning to ask if you can do some stuff on a character called Bayonetta. Bayonetta is a video game I have to say, she is quite the voluptuous female.

Well if you ever consider my thoughts, I thank you :p

    take care!

  12. I haven't played the game at all. But I do have to say that if you haven't touched the Witcher series (particularly the 2nd game, which is a goddamn RPG triumph) that you should pick them up on your break time. Countless inspiration sources in those games ;)

  13. the MU deal is a bit more complicated than antipiracy. there are also charges of racketeering and money laundering, it was a joint operation by both NZ police and the FBI, and when the ceo of MU was arrested, he was found in a bunker/saferoom in his mansion with a sawn-off shotgun. personally, im reserving judgment until there's more info out...

  14. TAKING A BREAK? DONT FEEL LIKE IT? jus take the break and dont announce it. its rude to your supporters. how would you like it if i said im taking a break from being your fan, or i dont feel like being your fan for a little while? sheesh... im gonna go play a fucking game instead of being your fan... im just saying...
anyway, look forward to your return.

  17. Anon, "I'm totally obsessed with the female Twi'leks, would love to see some work from you with those"
Of all the non-human races of SW the Twi'leks are the ones that I find more... interesting, I wouldn't discard my own rendered version :3

Patrick, thanks for the info, it looks like everything is good so far.

Pharaune, "No need to ever grind." if thats true, even on the highest levels it would be great.

Anon, Bayonetta... I'm not really interested in the character (not her body, her face nor her personality are appealing to me o.O) but check out Zzomp's blog, he did some renders featuring her.

Crazymaniscrazy, I played both, but somehow I was far more interested on the story, the action and the rpg elements than in the sex-appeal of the ladies... lol, it's usually the opposite XD

Anon, "the MU deal is a bit more complicated than antipiracy. there are also charges of racketeering and money laundering, it was a joint operation by both NZ police and the FBI, and when the ceo of MU was arrested, he was found in a bunker/saferoom in his mansion with a sawn-off shotgun. personally, im reserving judgment until there's more info out..."

sure, but some of us used the service for perfectly legal purposes. I didn't emitted a judgment, I just said that it sucks. If the directive is corrupt it doesn't mean that all their employees are too. If some people uses the service to share files illegally doesn't mean that all people do. But I 'll just wait as you said an see what happens.

Anon, "TAKING A BREAK? So, are you going to dictate what I can and cannot post on my blog? I offended you or something? here's something offensive:
go fuck yourself with a cactus while you suck your daddy's anus :) . Feeling better now?
If you are not interested on the SWTOR universe and the renders that I could do based on it... it's ok, but other people may want to see what can I come up with and, for me, it's reason enough to enjoy the game and get some ideas from it. You are free to leave, you are also free to leave a long post describing how outraged you are at my response. Have a nice day :)

  18. im not outraged at your response, nor will i leave a long blog bout. actually, i thought your "daddy's anus" retort was pretty fucking funny!:D very creative! you dont disappoint!
as far as swtor, i love it, and just dont come here for that. i will say if you originally posted more bout getting ideas from it, or some such, i proly wouldnt been offended by what sounded like your off-handed dismissal of fans. thats the way it came across, anyway.
all those wallpapers are awesome btw; peace!

  19. If you want inspiration then the Sith Warrior probably has the funnest story line with what you can subject your companions too.

Most of the republic story lines are fairly restrained, the smuggler being the only exception.

Gotta agree with Patrick on most of his comments about game play, and I have to agree with Anonymous #2, a Satele Shan set would be amazing!

  20. The entire game can be soloed and even a few Flashpoints or Heroic zone quests too, depending on your class and current companion.

Mako (a Bounty Hunter companion) was always my favorite. Vette was also decent.

Character customization is laughably restrictive. They could have done soooo much more than they did.

The class storyline quests are decent, but the non-storyline quests are little more than a grind after your first character.

  21. You might want to consider DDO online, has free to play access and the drow are pretty hot, one might even say inspirational:)
DDO is also not a wow clone as far as game mechanics go, like.... well almost every other mmo out there (no offense to wow players intended, but the wow gameplay style is fairly ubiquitous in mmo land. DDO plays more like a shooter I spose.
And they just announced they will be expanding into the forgotten realms and the underdark, so yet more drow!
Anyway, as a lurker I just wanted to pop in and let you know that some of us out here are extremely grateful for the time and effort you take to do what you do,and understand how disconcerting recent events must have been.
Anyway, ddo is the one mmo that has managed to keep my interest for over 5 years now, and with its free to play model who knows, you might like it.
If not, have fun with SWTOR and thanks again for your skillz!!

  23. Been playing it a bit myself (Draaga Pleasure Barge server). Doing the Sith Warrior thing. Which while great for the story and the chicks The hottie Vette and another which I won't spoil for you (if somehow you don't already know).

So the girls and story are good. However, the gameplay as a Sith Warrior (or any melee character for that matter) utterly blows. You've only got two methods of closing distance quickly (Force Charge & Obliterate) - both have cool downs and the main one actually has a minimum distance. So at times you'll try to jump but nothing happens while you're standing there getting shot up.

Second issue is the targeting. You are a melee class. You'd think there would be a default to target the next closest enemy (especially when you click "Target Closest Enemy" in the preferences). However, more than often after you kill something your next target will default to your next damager. Which more often than not is a ranged attacker, and not the other guy right next to you. So that makes things.... difficult.

Oh boy, seems I'm on a rant!

Third thing is the Knockback. As you increase in levels every enemy and their dog has a knockback ability. Usually they fire that right after you've closed the distance with one of your two jumps. And since that Knockback usually includes a move penalty... well yeah.

Fourth, you don't get anything to pull enemies to you. Every ranged class gets something to knock you away. You get nothing to pull them in.

And fifth, while range classes have no problem or penalties shooting while you are in melee distance or at range, for the most part you can only attack from 10m or less. Note that you do not get a serious increase in DPS for your limitation. In fact, your DPS tends to be a tiny bit lower.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is... play a Bounty Hunter OverPowerTech. You still get tons of options and Mako as your hottie. But if you absolutley need your Twilek (and who doesn't?) and can suffer thru the gameplay, then go with a Juggy Tank (I like Rage + Soresu form with Vette as added DPS).

  24. I've been playing since the beta and love it. Customization isn't that deep. No grinding. 99% of quests are fully voiced mass effect style conversations. Most of it can be played solo aside from the games instances or "flashpoints".

You'll probably love Vette, the Sith Warriors first companion. She's the same voice actress as Mission Vao from the first kotor but much much better at acting now lol.

  25. Aww... I hope you feel inspired soon. Until then, have a nice break :)

  26. As far as a played swtor it is great. The story is fantastic, a love making charakters and the interaction with companions is very inspirering for my.

I guess you will get some great ideas too.

  31. Sith Warrior's female "Sith Apprentice" looks pretty hot, if you turn her into the dark side.

  32. I have to say that it exceeded my expectations as an MMO player.

I am a fan of The KOTOR pair of games and it seemed to take all of the best aspects of both and leave a number of the negative ones behind.

The storyline has quests that are, of course, similar to any MMO, however these are supported by actual voiced conversations and often intriguing dialogue.

I won't say that the game doesn't have bugs to be ironed out but the majority of 'neigh'sayers are the ones who played WoW sometime within the last 3-5 years and expected the exact same polish. These people obviously didn't play WoW at launch... >.<

The female companions I think are too few in number, but they do look good, and the fact that you can pick up customizations to their skins from vendors to tailor themselves to you (mmm... redheaded freckled Mako... *drools*) makes for a great touch.

There is also a great amount of interacting with your companions using the affection system which gives alot of flavor to your 'crew'.

Soloability is high with some classes, middling with others. I've played every class but two and I don't see any problems as long as you have the right companion. Some combinations (such as Sith Warriors with Vette [She's hot, but not a healer. :( ]) tend to have difficulties with small amounts of content between 10 and 30. That said, if you play games well you'll figure out how to get past anything.

Anyway, that's my little slice of review. Can't wait to see more of your works and I hope you have fun with SWTOR. I know I am.

(P.S. I didn't read anybody else's replies so if I'm repeating what you said... NYAH. :P)

  34. It's definitely a good crossover of the Kotor/Mass Effect/Dragon Age style games, and an MMO, yes. I think it's worth playing through just for the stories, regardless of any raiding or pvp.

  36. Love your work, expecially the girl in that series for Malcanthet (hope to see more of her in the future. About SWOTOR I pre-ordered and beta tested it and I've played a fair amount since release but it got boring after awhile. Also the security key is annoying to use; don't get it. Unfortunately, the graphics outside of cut-scenes are deliberately gimped for marketing purposes. I like Vette (Sith Warrior companion) a lot and I think that she would be good for some inspiration.
