Moving forward

Looks like I have to work with what I have.

I won't bore you with all the details. After uninstalling the actualized nvidia drivers and letting windows install some 2 months old drivers I haven't got a blue screen of death in the last 24 hours. I did get the occasional 3-10 seconds freeze but I guess I'll have to work with that. Hopefully it will hold.

Now, some more bad news, I tried to reallocate the files with all the stuff hoping that I would just have to indicate where the textures are when I load a scene, it didn't work, the software doesn't even asks for missing files it just adds a plain red color instead of the texture.
Scrap that, I think I fixed it. It was a problem with the octane plug-in, not being properly activated, even if carrara8pro recognized the textures it wouldn't recognize how the octane shaders work, hence the plain red texture.

The good news I guess is that the base female V4 models that I've worked on are stored on the save file itself so as far as I saw... they work. So I have to do all the texturing again but I should be able to do so, for the scenarios and such... pretty much impossible, too many textures that I wold have to try one by one.

If nothing else decides to fuck with me... this where I am now, pretty much a clean slate. The only thing that you will see from the old stuff, at least for now, is the latest in "Fallen", that one was rendered before the big bang. I can, and I will try to restore some characters, but for now on most of the stuff will be new.

This Sunday, if all goes well I will release the last "Fallen". For the love of Cthulhu, don't pirate my new sets, at least for a few months, I'm counting cents and time, next month I have to start paying for the loan that I took to pay for the barely functioning, really expensive PC I purchased to be able to continue my work.

I'm counting on you guys.  ( ' -')b

  1. oh my. maybe there's a script that could help locate the missing files? try asking on forums?

    1. I've already browsed the forums and tried many different things. I can't just waste more hours on it.

    2. There is a command-line program called find.

There's also some Cygwin Unix programs available called find and grep, but they require at a minimum bash and the cygwin dll. And of course you'll want the manpages, as these aren't simple to deal with. Still, it would require time to understand, which of course you don't have. Still, knowing about a thing is half the battle.

On another note, I'm watching Riven Phoenix's "Blender Character Modeling For Beginners" on Youtube. It looks interesting.

    3. I think I fixed it, it wasn't really a problem of missing files, but with the octane plug-in.

  2. New slates can be a good thing too but that does suck about your old work. Hopefully everyone here will support you.

  3. So when you said most stuff will be new does that include your Red head dragon girl (Rhaela)?
You mentioned you had done some work with her. Would you have to start over? If so I guess that means she might look a bit different?

    1. I can try to reload her and see if I can get all the textures right. But I would have to remember exactly what to load and search for it manually so... yeah, she might look a bit different. Sorry.

    2. I'm sure she will look very similar. Maybe even better! Either way I know you'll do a great job.

    3. welp, that may not be necessary anymore, i think I fixed that.

  4. Well, new girls, new scenarios, new textures, it doesn't seem so bad at all ... despite the fact that I was wishing for a third part of the Dragons set. Anyway, count on me! Let's make you efforts worth!!! Good lucky buddy!!!

  5. Didn't you have backups on your work? Or use RAID?

If not, try to use that now, so in the event of data loss, you'll always have a backup.

    1. Yep, and they do work, I just failed to identify the real problem, it was not the missing files, it was the octane plug-in not being properly activated. I opened a couple of scenes and it works now, I just have to point it to the right source of the files and it will continue to load properly, at least it did on the set that I tested it with.

    hoping for Dragons 3, too!
not with a dragon cock the size like in the last pic of Dragons 2,
but maybe a DP with the sizes from before -
or with any kind of monster for that matter,
anything that would be willing to do that xxxtra gorgeous redhead!

    1. i've been brooding over this for quite some time now
but never took the time to write it down nor had i spare cash to spend:
isn't there a way you, V, could book and tax a set
as a commission and still sell the set in the shop later?
i'd be willing and able to spend at least a 100€ on my part of a commission
which really isn't a lot but all i can spare atm.
some of you, fellow V-fans, might like to join in on a group commission though.
such a group commission ought to consider
as many of the different commissioners' suggestions as possible
while still leaving you, V enough space to do your thing.
i'd personally be happy to just be able to make suggestions
and have V do whatever he pleases, but ofc i'd be VERY happy
to later see some of what i personally would think would be an ideal sequel.
so all what comes next are just suggestions
and as much up for discussion by potential co-commissioners
as free to ignore by V (obviously).
      as jm5c as it comes.

    2. my absolute fave from V's works are the Dragons sets.
the redhead is also my favourite female character.
her ruby almond eyes, her full red lips and cute button nose,
her fiery hair, the radiance of her pretty and lively face,
her slender and delicate as well as ample rounded body,
her long legs, gentle touch and overall stunningness
are a dream come virtually true.

    3. and her suitors are quite worthy of the exquisite task.
the dragons' appearances make for a very special counterpoint to the heroine,
being not without their own kind of aesthetic
but still fairly monstrous alongside the redhead's beauty.
      also there's really wild action.
and the sets' overall succession is full of new wonders like every moment.
plus the setting, glowing lava lights and fire dragons go perfectly with our redhead.
she really gets all blood boiling red hot (which goes for herself & the dragons as well as the audience).

    6. does the redhead have a name yet?
i didn't find any in the earlier logs.
i don't really have an idea that i think worthy of her
(best i can come up with is Sylvie),
but maybe someone else has a more suitable idea.
that is unless you, V, would prefer to come up with sth yourself or keep a secret of this mysterious redheads' identity altogether
      (pyro priestess? amazon? courtesan?).

      Delete
    7. so great to hear you, V, could rescue the backuped textures!
i so hope all goes well here!
goes for the redhead as well as a lot of other beauties i'd love to see again,
      e.g. Elina, Averyl, Adeline,
Jenna and Amanda (going 2 on 2 on Cthulhu's wangs),
Supergirl & Powergirl (vs. the Hypnotic Aliens)
      and so many others.
textures is ofc also good news concerning the settings & mates.

      Delete
    8. i'd personally prefer it if the redhead was naked in Dragons 3
cos i really don't like continuity- or connection-goofs and -failures.
i love both the how and when of the way you, V,
usually have ur female protagonists drop their clothes (=slowly!),
and i really like the things she wore in part 1,
but in this case at the end of Dragons 2 she already is naked
and it just wouldn't seem right to have her put back on her clothes again.
IF she was to put clothes on (and off) again,
i'd go with sth different than what she wore earlier.
e.g. a ruby red & black pyropriestessy ritual outfit
would quite probable look near-mortally great on her.
plus also kinda explain her making the effort
of redressing just to go back to stripping immediately after
(maybe i'm a bit touchy when it comes to continuity).

      Delete
    9. as for the setting, i'd prefer the same as before, again for continuity reasons.
also it's just a great setting that matches her & and the dragons perfectly so why change it.

    11. mates:
as for her mates i'd simply use the dragons from part 1 & 2,
which imo still offer a lot of idle opportunities.
plus it's also much less work for you, V.
here's a possible succession of appearances:
starting with one of the big dragons from part 2,
then a small one from part 1 joins in.
then the other big (part-2-)dragon swaps with the first one,
then a second small one appears (= 1 big + 2 small ones),
then one or several other small dragons might swap with the earlier ones (prolly each dumping a jolly load of dragongoo).
      and for the grande finale:
DP with both big dragons from part 2.
      an inflation- and/or preggo-ending
would make for a perfect roundup.

    13. i guess it wouldn't be a very big effort to upscale the part-1-dragon models just a bit,
so the swapping part-1-dragons could easily increase in size over time.
maybe even a slightly bigger version of the winged dragon from part 2 would also still fit in -
there might be just enough room left for a teeny weeny bit more dragonwang.
or it could be one of the part-2-models + one heftily enlarged species from part 1.
i'm not sure if the big four-legged (part-two-)dragons' horsey cock could reasonably be any larger in such a DP -
i don't really believe it could.
also you might wanna save some space
      for the cum inflation factor.
i think an even bigger dragon than the ones in part 2
might work in a single scene
or maybe even together with a smaller dragon
but not in a DP with two XXXL-sized dragons.
a solo with an even bigger dragon
could even be a thing for an extra scene
      before or after the big-dragon-DP.
(tough please not as big as big a dragon as the one in the last pic of part 2,
which would surely end in total distortion.)
or maybe the even bigger sizes ought to be
left to Dragons 5 for now. ;)
anyway there's a whole lot of possibilities
to combine or resize using the existing models only,
which ofc is no must either, who knows what kind of dreadful dragons might inhabit these lava pits...)

      Delete
    14. concerning light:
i know there have been complaints about too much (red) light in part 1,
but i personally liked it even better than the somewhat dimmed-down part-2-lighting.
the preview pix prolly really were a little bit over the top
and maybe as well some of the part-1-pics that show our redhead in front of the lava lights,
but even those i think make for a very nice effect for a change,
i just wouldn't overstrain it by using it in too many pics.
same goes for a few more dimly lighted pics in between.
anyway it's probably extra work to try and keep the same brightness in all pics
that will very likely be shot from very different angles,
so the question of the lighting's variety might just solve itself quite nicely.

    15. action:
      see above under "mates".
+ like i said this leaves a lot of room for elaboration and/or variation.
and ofc lots of other and different approaches are possible.
anything goes. (well, i personally DO draw some lines,
but luckily it's not that kind of blog here anyway,
so i don't think i'll have to worry about those.)
what would you, fellow V-fan, like to see?
a deepthroat by the 4-legged small dragon from part 1?
(i doubt she could take the whole thing, but a quarter or third would be pretty deep already.)
a spitroast w/ this small dragon deepthroating her plus a big dragon up her ass?
slow inflation, increasing load by load over the whole set
(i'm a huge fan of incrementally progressive inflation!),
maybe with a bit of pressure relase for our redhead thru brimming over top side
and some proper splashing & sloshing from the bottom.
just here and there and never lasting very long futurebellysizewise -
after she takes the first loads she never again completely deflates.
but i'm getting carried away here (a man can dream!).
      what else?
      eggs?
      surprise guest(s)?
      could be just about anything.

      Delete
    16. i myself wouldn't include any nubile female visitors before Dragons 4
(yeah, okay i know i'm getting carried away again).
but i really think one woman is enough for dramaturgy
& mating succession reasons implied by what i suggested above.
plus imho the redhead already is all woman you could need here.
unless maybe the set would be sth like 150 - 200 pix large
(which would probably come out more or less the same
as three subsets sized same as usual anyway (=60pix),
so that would be like Dragons 3 - 5 :)

      Delete
    17. talking about the set size:
dunno if V's usual 60-pic set size is a must.
that would be for V to decide.
theoretically ofc the bigger the set the more sugesstions could potentially be matched.
might also depend on how many co-commissioners there would be.
      it's for V to say...

      Delete
    18. i'd love to hear what you other ppl around here think about all this
and if you have ideas and suggestions yourselves,
and even more i'd love to hear from other ppl
that might like to partake in a group commission.
as i said, wouldn't necessarily have to be Dragons 3.

      Delete
    19. i think you, V, really just deserve a break at this moment.
that could be quite easily achieved by a one-time thing with no strings attached
(unlike what a Patreon or sth like that might bring).
a special 10-year-anniversary goodie for your loyal & faithful fans.
if you can find a way to book & tax such a group commission without ruining your shop income model
i think that might be exactly the little boost your wallet could do just fine with right now.
i'm quite sure at least some of you, fellow potential co-commissioners,
would be quite content to just hand in some thoughts
and later maybe even find something you wished for in the set,
without expecting you, V, to include anything you don't really like.

      Delete
    20. i myself have one restraint though
(apart from rel. low cash resources):
if it wasn't gonna be Dragons 3
i'd like it to be some other kind of monster set,
be it fantasy, scifi or whatever.
so if some of you, pll around here,
would prefer a zoo or farm themed set
      and there's enough ppl interested,
i'd suggest you, V, might even do two group commisions:
a monster themed set und a zoo-themed set.
both with no strings attached except for
each gotta have the one or the other theme.
i wouldn't mind sth like a spider or unicorn
or sth within a range similar to the one in the Elina sets,
but with a mere zoo or farm set
i'd prefer not to partake in the comission
except for if it was the only V commission there was.
by what i've read in your, my fellow commentors' posts
i'd actually be surprised if there wasn't any interest
in a monster themed group commission project.
for you, dear zoologists, i couldn't really tell.
ofc two sets would be a way to meet
      a broader audience's interests.
and ofc i'd personally much prefer a 100+ pic long fantasy set
over two short sets one monster and one zoo themed.
i wouldn't wanna go to war with the farmers front over it though.
much rather would i use unfair methods
like bribe or rigged fan polls to accomplish this.
the end justifies the means! *mad evildoer's laugh*

    21. so, fellow V-fans, lets hope you, V
think this is a good idea
and you find a way to get that
in line with your taxes and stuff.
i'm quite sure if that's doable
it's no problem to leave the rights
      to the commission's product exclusively
to the artist (that ofc being V),
      with the commissioners only entitled
to a copy of it (for personal use only).
you, V, could start a special theme post/thread
      to collect the co-commissioners'
      (and other interested ppls') suggestions
and maybe give feedback on them yourself.

      Delete
    22. shopwise it should be easy to realize:
by selling special "pre-order & suggestion tickets" in advance
(that ofc include the later download of the commissioned set).
a different shop item can then later
be purchased for a much lower price,
including the same content as the more expensive ticket
but it's ofc too late to make any suggestions.
would the shop leave the option to put a variable price?
ideally free to choose for the commissioner/customer:
each one can give as much as he/she can afford
      and/or thinks it's worth it.
one might think it's then best to give
the big spenders' suggestions more credit,
but i think it would be best to not look at that
but only at if it's a good suggestion.
if a brilliant idea comes from someone that atm
can't really afford to contribute moneywise
(and thus not a co-commissioner/pre-order ticket customer),
      it's still a brilliant idea.
and all of this wouldn't even be
much extra work to do for you, V,
only you would be expected to at least read the commissioners'
suggestions before you reject them ;)
which i know you to usually do in the
comment section of your blog anyway
(the reading part, the rejecting ideas part not just as often).
