She needs a matching hat for that outfit and sunglasses, if you ask me... and then I look forward to seeing her parading around the plains wearing nothing but those and those boots. I love her!
I'm not very good with naming, but I like the "Jo" suggestion above. I vote for that. :)
How about Kate Thompson. While she isn't Caucasian (or just highly tanned?), Kate Thompson was the female character (school teacher) in The Gods Must Be Crazy.
I second JCD only because Aluna sort of reminds me of that Ringo movie called "Caveman". There was a scene where Atuk (Ringo) declares his intention to zugzug Lana and says something like "Atuk alonda Lana"
I think I've decided that I like her enough that I might like to draw her, once she's final, if you like the sound of that, Vaesark. Let me know! I'll wait for your input before I go ahead with anything. :)
(you can contact me via the information on my own blog if you'd rather discuss it privately, in fact that might be a good idea so that I'm sure to see your answer)
I like Aluna too, sounds like a name for her, but she looks pretty tough, and Aluna is like an Elf Chick name. Though I like Aluna, I'm going to add another name in the mix. Gabriela or Gabby.
"Daktary" es como el nombre de una serie muy antigua ke transcurria en el africa, donde recuerdo habia un leon vizco ke se llamaba Clarens, Daktary estaria bien para mi ese nombre
That's how I feel about the name Aluna myself, Q. Seems a bit too elegant, while she looks more like a rugged all-business hunter. That's the impression I get, anyway.
Love it. Did I hear a pack of African Wild dogs howling "Aluuuna" while chasing down a chevy pickup? Maybe it was the grunt of my favorite a Redkingrhino about to bust the pickup open and pull out its prize.
Great work can't wait to see what you do with her.
Seren is an easy name, or Geti. Thome? Perne? Jo? Merc? :)
ReplyDeleteGo African. ALUNA means
ReplyDelete'come here' for example.

+1 JCD

ReplyDeleteA matching hat for that outfit and sunglasses?!
Yeah, GOOD one !!!
:)
Laquisha. That sounds such an African name.
ReplyDeleteThat's racist, HMS. Also inaccurate.
ReplyDeleteRhonda's a much better name.

ReplyDeleteOtherwise, Aluna as suggested by JCD is nice.
Amisha...
ReplyDeletei would call her simply sasha, btw, vaesark do u still plan to do the set with selene?
ReplyDeleteshes my favorite together with Xiana :)
Petra
ReplyDeleteSheva Alomar :D
ReplyDeleteDidn't know Laquisha was a racist name. I apologize if it is indeed racist name. Btw, how does a name become "racist"?
ReplyDeleteYou claimed it was "African". It is not. Africans have enough sense to not name their children "Laquisha".
ReplyDeleteChevette.

Kali
ReplyDeleteAs I said on DS forum, I think the full "Serengeti" would be a good name
ReplyDeleteCrosseyed John
BTW it seems I'm not the only one who likes names for the girls

Anon,"do u still plan to do the set with selene?"
ReplyDeleteNot for the moment. But it's half finished so it is unlikely that I'll just abandon it.
Thanks everyone for the suggested names, I think that I'll pick "Aluna"

ReplyDeletePlease involve lions or leopards and not a human male.
