So, this is it, last one I was able to finish at 100% before the troubles started, I've done my best to fix the PC but I can only use the old rendering engine for now. I'll continue for as long as I can, but if the PC finally dies I do not have the funds for a new high-end one. I'll try to save up as much as I can, but with the drop in sales and subscriptions there's very little I can do about it.
Unlike when my previous PC died back in 2017 this time I'm not going to get into debt to keep on making sets. If it comes to that I'm afraid that I'll simply give up and go back to my old job.
So, cross fingers, and pray to Cthulhu that this thing keeps working long enough to allow me to save up enough for a new one.

DeleteIn the past I had no employment an no money left and no paypal, so if I download leaked sets or not, I was unable to pay for them anyway. If there was no leak in the past, I wouldn't be a fan today.

My question is, can you post the performance data of the hardware you need, and what costs you expect?
I'm not familiar with rendering but interessted. My younger brother set up his own PC for design study with a very "low" budget imo.
And don't worry about lost Octane - I love the older CG-Sets too, sometimes more than the newer ones, e.g. Siari's Tale or The Black Guarian.
The better the bigger it gets imo - especially equines/unicorns, elephants, trolls, minotaurs, demons, dragons, dinosaurs and other monsters.
Hope we manage to see much more of them. ;)
Even though I could technically work on a low budget PC the rendering times would make it impossible to push out 120-130 renders per month. It needs to be a high-end PC. Current market is too volatile, so I hope that by the time my PC dies I'll have enough saved up for a replacement.
