Synthesis

War between organics and synthetics is over, it's time for love.

The (almost finished) gang-bang scene consumed most of my free time lately, but I worked on this from time to time to break the monotony.

  5. Malogado Aknoes, cuanto más grotesca sea la criatura más hermosa parecerá la chica ;)

Anon, Ninjamaster_255, that was my original intention but the rendering times for this scene are quite prohibitive... around 3-6 hours per render -_- (the scene has 89 lights), I'll think about it, but I can't guarantee a full set.

  6. 89 lights!

Damn, that sounds like it would be rough any computer to do. No wonder it takes so long. About how many lights do you usually place in a scene, on average? I know Carrara can be faster than other 3D software, but even then, 89 lights cannot be rendered quickly. Also, I have a few technical questions about that, since I do 3D as a hobby. How dim do you have to make all those lights so they don't make the scene too bright? Do you use certain types of lights in different ways? And, while I'm already asking questions, I know you start from pre-made characters, but how do you customize them into the the girls we all know and love? Does Carrara have sculpting abilities or do you do something else? Sorry for all the questions, but I really like your work and would like to know more.

Thank you and good luck on your gang-bang set!

  7. Make love, not war! Damn- 3 to 6 hours each? It sure shows in this case- well worth it. I do environmental modeling in 3D Max on an older rig so I can sympathize, one time I had 300+ lights in one scene and it was a miserable 3 days to render a 30 second fly-through. And it was nowhere near this sexy ;)

  8. Anon, on average? depends a lot on the scene, but usually 5-15 for interiors and 3-6 for daytime exteriors.

"How dim do you have to make all those lights so they don't make the scene too bright?"

Reduce the brightness value and the ratio of lighting, indirect lighting does the rest.

"Do you use certain types of lights in different ways?"

yes, but it would take me too long to explan in detail.

"Does Carrara have sculpting abilities or do you do something else?"

Carrara has sculpting tools integrated, you can even sculpt on already posed and morphed models, it's great to fix little details.
I also use it a lot to customize the girls and make them more unique, I mostly fix details on the face (lips and nose) and on the hips/waist zone to make a thin but curvy figure with a nice thigh gap, I fucking love the thigh gap.
